Dayanara Torres Biography

Dayanara Torres Delgado (born on October 28, 1974 in San Juan, Puerto Rico) is a Puerto Rican actress, singer, model and former Miss Universe.

At age 17, Dayanara Torres was approached while walking through the Plaza de Toa Alta in her hometown and was subsequently invited to represent Toa Alta in the annual Miss Puerto Rico Pageant. She won the pageant and the rights to represent Puerto Rico at the 1993 Miss Universe pageant. Previously in 1992, she had participated in the Miss International pageant, where she placed among the semi-finalists, and placed second in the Queen of the World contest.

The Miss Universe pageant was held in Mexico City in May 21, 1993 and Dayanara Torres won the crown. Torres's victory in the pageant caused some controversy because it was claimed she was still a minor. However, Torres had turned 18 several months before the contest. Her victory also raised some eyebrows as she won neither the preliminary round nor the semifinals. Torres anara was received in Puerto Rico with a massive parade.

During and after her reign, she became an ambassador of UNICEF, traveling through Asia and Latin America in support of the organization. She even created the Dayanara Torres Foundation which provided scholarships to poor students in Puerto Rico and the Philippines. In 1994 she went to Manila to crown the new Miss Universe. During the ceremony, she sang "A Whole New World" as a duet with Peabo Bryson.

After the 1994 Miss Universe pageant, Dayanara Torresreceived offers to endorse products, appear on television programs, and act in movies. She lived in the Philippines for five years, becoming a celebrity in the country. She also appeared in more than 10 movies, including a film with Filipino actor and singer Gary Valenciano called "Hataw Na." During that time, she also filmed Linda Sara, a Puerto Rican film directed by Jacobo Morales where she was paired with fellow Puerto Rican singer, Chayanne. The film was released in 1994. She also became a staple figure on Philippine television every Sunday on the show "ASAP", which gave her the title "Dancing Queen" because of her impressive dancing skills.

During her time in the Philippines, she had a relationship with Filipino superstar actor Aga Muhlach. (Muhlach is now married to Charlene Gonzalez, Miss Philippines-Universe 1994.) Torres and Aga first met each other on the set of her first Philippine movie, Basta't Kasama Kita (As Long As I'm With You). Their relationship lasted four years. She also learned Tagalog, the main language of the country.

She returned to Puerto Rico in 1998 and released her first album (and only one, as of now) called Antifaz. It reached the top of the Billboard charts through Latin America and the Philippines. She also starred in several theater productions in the island. That same year, a "Dayanara" doll was released and sold out in the island and in the Philippines.

Dayanara Torres married singer Marc Anthony on 9 May 2000 in Las Vegas. They have two sons, Christian Anthony Muñiz (5 February 2001) and Ryan Anthony Muñiz (16 August 2003). It was a rocky marriage, and they separated in summer 2002. They later reconciled and renewed their vows in a spectacular ceremony held in Puerto Rico in December of 2002. In 2003, a Miami waitress filed paternity charges against Anthony; multiple DNA-tests, the last in August 2004, disproved her claims. The couple's final separation was in October 2003. Torres filed for divorce in January 2004.

As the divorce proceeded, Anthony was seen out with actress-singer Jennifer Lopez, a long-time friend he had worked with in music videos. They had briefly dated in the late '90s, before his first marriage and her second one. Lopez and Anthony were recording a duet together in early 2004, for Lopez's then-upcoming film Shall We Dance? Lopez and Anthony married in a quiet home wedding on June 5, 2004, less than a week after his divorce from Torres was finalized on June 1. The media, however, was tipped off that morning of the wedding, and circled Lopez's backyard in helicopters. Photographs, alerting the rest of the world, soon followed. Reports fueled rumors that Lopez was pregnant but this was not the case.

On September 1 of 2005, she debuted in an American soap opera, playing a small role in The Young and The Restless. The programs producers expressed an interest in future appearances, though Torres, to date, has not reappeared on the program.

On March 6, 2006, Dayanara Torres had emergency surgery in New York, to correct an intestinal obstruction that was detected after she had felt pain during a flight from Los Angeles the day before.

Daria Werbowy

Daria Werbowy Biography

Daria Werbowy is a popular Canadian model of Ukrainian descent. Although born in Poland, Werbowy holds Ukrainian citizenship. When she was three years old, Werbowy's Ukrainian parents moved to Mississauga, a suburb west of Toronto, Canada. At age fourteen, Werbowy was 5'11", willowy and sporting braces. She attended Cawthra Park Secondary School. She was once romantically linked to actor Josh Hartnett.

Daria Werbowy had never seriously considered modeling, but found herself launched into the business after meeting a schoolmate's mother who headed Toronto's Susan J.Model & Talent Management. At age 14, Werbowy won a national modelling contest, but after a year of working with Susan J. Model & Talent, however, Werbowy thought she could be doing more with another agency and left.

After switching over to Elite Models, Daria Werbowy began landing several prominent bookings in Canada but still had not achieved much international success. When Elite Canada's head scout, Elmer Olsen, started his own agency Werbowy followed and her career began to flourish. Within a few years, and under the guidance of International Management Group (IMG), Werbowy had gained a foothold on the international modelling stage. Daria plans to quit the industry when she turns 25, to become a professional painter, or to open her own gallery, back home in Mississauga, Ontario.

Though she relinquished the world's No.1 runway model status to new "it girls", Werbowy holds the record for opening and closing the most shows in one season. To date, Werbowy's clients have included Lancôme, Prada, Yves Saint-Laurent, Roberto Cavalli, Gucci, Hermès, Valentino, David Yurman, Missoni, Versace, Louis Vuitton and Chanel, altogether she has posed on 21 covers of Vogue (magazine). In her first season, Fall/Winter 2003, Werbowy captured two of the modeling worlds most coveted assignments: the cover of Vogue Italia, thrice (in July, August and October); and Prada's Fall/Winter ad campaign.

In July 2007, Forbes listed Daria Werbowy as the ninth highest-earning model in the world after Karolina Kurkova, Natalia Vodianova, Carolyn Murphy, Alessandra Ambrosio, Adriana Lima, Heidi Klum, Kate Moss and Gisele Bundchen. Her earnings between June 2006 and June 2007 were in the order of $3.5 million.

Danielle Lloyd

Danielle Lloyd Picture
Danielle Lloyd (born 16 December 1983, Liverpool) is an English lingerie and glamour model, and former Miss England (2004).

She was stripped of her title of Miss Great Britain 2006 after posing for nude pictures featured in the December 2006 of Playboy magazine, and her tabloid-alleged affair with one of the judges, her footballer boyfriend at that time Teddy Sheringham. As a participant in the 2007 series of Celebrity Big Brother, Lloyd, along with others, was accused of using bullying tactics and making racist comments directed against the Indian actress Shilpa Shetty. According to reports from the tabloid News of the World, Sheringham has decided to end his relationship with Lloyd as a result of her appearance on Celebrity Big Brother.

Danielle Lloyd was born in Penny Lane, Liverpool in 1983. Her parents, Jackie and Arthur Lloyd, work as a bank manager and an engineer, respectively. At the age of 3 months, Lloyd contracted whooping cough, resulting in damage to her lungs. This led to her developing asthma.

The headmaster of Lloyd's old school, St Hilda’s, Chris Yates said: "There’s no recollection of her ever being persecuted and no teacher can ever recall any incidents where Danielle was bullied. In fact I’ve been lead to believe by her former friends that the opposite is true."

On November 2, 2006, she was stripped of her title “following recent claims in the press and magazines and the publicity given on the Playboy Web site for their next issue", according to the MissGreat Britain website. The claim they were referring to was that Lloyd had been dating Teddy Sheringham, who was one of the judges of the pageant, for more than two months before her victory. This was reported by the media after she allegedly said in an interview that Sheringham bought her a pair of shoes for Christmas. Lloyd continues to claim that the relationship started after the pageant, and that the interview was made up. She attributes her topless shoot for the December 2006 issue of Playboy as the primary reason for the loss of her title.

On 11 January 2007 it was revealed that Lloyd was being sued by the Miss Great Britain company for breaking her contract and bringing the company into disrepute. The company is asking for full revelation of the sums she earned for the Playboy pictures, plus costs.

Lloyd made a memorable appearance on BBC One's Test the Nation. When asked "Who was Winston Churchill - a rapper, US President, the PM or King?", Lloyd answered "Wasn't he the first black president of America? There's a statue of him near me - that's black."

Lloyd has recently appeared in FHM and Maxim magazines and before the Big Brother racism row wrote a column for celebrityspotlight.co.uk.

Lloyd was the second housemate to enter the Big Brother House, and had amongst her possessions a blue teddy bear doused in Sheringham's aftershave.

Lloyd garnered significant negative publicity when thousands of complaints were filed with Ofcom after she, Jade Goody and Jo O'Meara, dubbed "The Witches (or Bitches) of Elstree" were accused of bullying and making racist remarks towards their fellow house mate, Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty.

This behaviour also created an international outcry gaining heavy coverage in the Indian media. Gordon Brown, the British Chancellor of the Exchequer visiting India at the time, condemned the programme on the grounds that he is against anything which might damage the perception that the United Kingdom is a country of tolerance. In a statement on January 17 Channel 4 defended the programme against charges "of overt racism or racial abuse".

Lloyd's aunt directly accused her of racism, adding "It was disgusting the way Danielle treated Shilpa. I'm surprised Big Brother didn't throw her out of the house."

A newspaper interview made before Celebrity Big Brother, from November 2006, revealed Lloyd's anti-immigration views: "If I was (a politician), I'd get more people into work and stop people coming into the country. There's so many people who come into England because they know they can get benefits. People who already live here should get the jobs".

Lloyd’s mother said in the News of the World that her family has been “destroyed” by the racist row: "Danielle is at the start of her career and facing ruin because of a TV show that she thought was going to be entertaining and fun. Everything's been taken away from her as well. It has destroyed the family. I'm regretting she went in. Danielle has got a lot of questions to answer when she gets out." She denied her daughter was a racist, claiming: "She will be distraught but she's got to take responsibility. She's been stupid and naive and she's guilty of that (but) I know she didn't mean any racial connotations when she told Shilpa to go home. Danielle's been brought up amongst family friends of all different races. I swear she isn't racist."

Danielle has agreed in an attempt to revive her popularity to go on a 'date' with a competition winner. The Daily Star in promoting the article discusses how she wears 'plunging vest top and miniskirt.' when on a date and will willingly attend at any public house of the entrant's choice.

Danielle Lloyd helped open a mobile phone safety campaign after her own mobile was stolen in a Liverpool club. The Keep It Safe & Secure campaign, backed by the National Mobile Phone Crime Unit encourages mobile users to take greater safety precautions when using their phone.

She made a presentation to Trump on how best to use the property and was hired by Trump in 1994, who kept her on as director of sales and marketing. After four years in this capacity, she was named interim general manager after then general manager Karl Hofer was ousted from the organization. Her effective management skills convinced Trump of her ability to lead and later named her the Chief Operating Officer and General Manager of the Trump National Golf Club in Briarcliff Manor, New York, and subsequently the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey, overseeing over 250 employees at both locations.

On August 31, 2006, Kepcher's employment at the Trump Organization abruptly ended (Trump says she was fired; she says she quit). Her new-found celebrity status had kept her busy with speaking engagements and endorsements leading to Trump's reported dissatisfaction: "She was no longer focused on (Trump) business," according to the New York Post. While it was announced that there will be no official replacement for Carolyn on The Apprentice, Ivanka Trump took her place as she did in season 5.

Following her departure from the Trump organization, Kepcher became co-founder and CEO of Carolyn & Co., a company created for the purpose of "providing a broad array of services and assistance to career women." The company's tagline is "Finding What Matters...Success in Your Career. Balance in Your Life." Currently in its pre-launch phase, Carolyn & Co. is due to fully launch sometime in 2007.

In 2004, she co-wrote the book Carolyn 101: Business Lessons From the Apprentice's Straight Shooter (ISBN 0-7432-7022-3) based on her business experience.

Carolyn was hired by Bill Gates of Microsoft to star in a new reality show "Ultimate Challenge" to find the next best small-business venture. She was to be one of the 3 judges.

In January, 2007 Carolyn Kepcher provided management skills to the nonprofit world through an affiliation with Graham-Pelton Consulting, Inc. , a national leader in fundraising and nonprofit management.

Kepcher is of Irish descent. She is married to George Kepcher. They have two children together - son Connor and daughter Cassidy - and reside in Ridgefield, Connecticut. She holds an honorary degree from Bryant University.

Carolyn Hughes

Derek Christopher Lowe (born June 1, 1973 in Dearborn, Michigan) is a Major League Baseball pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers. He throws and bats right-handed.

Lowe attended Edsel Ford High School (Dearborn, Michigan) and was a four-sport letterman in baseball, golf, soccer and basketball. He was an All-League honoree in all four sports and was a first team all-state pick in basketball.

Lowe was drafted by the Seattle Mariners in the 8th round of the 1991 amateur draft. He signed with the Mariners on June 7, 1991. The Mariners immediately assigned him to their rookie league team, where he went 5-3 with a 2.41 ERA in 12 starts.

He spent the next several years working his way through several minor league teams: 1992- Bellingham ("A" level = 7-3, 2.42 - 13 starts), 1993 - Riverside ("A+" level, 12-9, 5.26, 26 starts), 1994- Jacksonville ("AA" level, 7-10, 4.94, 26 starts), 1995- Port City ("AA" level, 1-6, 6.08, 10 starts), 1996- Tacoma ("AAA" level, 6-9, 4.54, 16 starts).

Lowe made his Major League debut on April 26 1997, working 3 2/3 innings in relief against the Toronto Blue Jays. He made his first major league start on May 27, 1997 against the Minnesota Twins, giving up four runs in 5 innings. His first career win came on June 6 against the Detroit Tigers, pitching 5 1/3 innings and giving up 3 runs in the Mariners 6-3 victory.

Seattle, however, was desperate for immediate bullpen help and packaged Lowe and catcher Jason Varitek into a deal with the Boston Red Sox for Heathcliff Slocumb. The Mariners' willingness to trade Lowe may have stemmed from his involvement in an incident earlier that year in Federal Way, Washington. Lowe was charged with fourth-degree domestic violence by King County police after his girlfriend claimed that he struck her. Lowe was released on $1,000 bond the next day, and he allegedly violated a no-contact order by returning to her home shortly after his release.

Lowe compiled a 5-15 record over his first two seasons, during which he split time starting and relieving, but came into his own in 1999 after being transferred into the closer's role, finishing the season with 15 saves and a 2.63 ERA.

Lowe had his best season as a closer in 2000 when he led the American League with 42 saves. He was regarded as an unconventional closer, however, as he didn't overwhelm hitters. As a result, despite 24 saves early in the 2001 season, Lowe lost the closer's job at the trading deadline, July 31, when Boston acquired star closer Ugueth Urbina from the Montreal Expos. Lowe was left in limbo, forced to take various setup jobs in the bullpen.

In 2002, Lowe moved back into the starting rotation, a move which paid off immediately. He posted a 21-8 record, a 2.58 ERA, and finished 3rd in Cy Young Award voting behind Barry Zito and teammate Pedro Martinez. Lowe also no-hit the Tampa Bay Devil Rays at Fenway Park on April 27 that year, the first no-hitter pitched in that stadium since Dave Morehead's gem in 1965.

Lowe struggled through much of the 2003 season but, boosted by the strength of Boston's thunderous offense, posted a 17-7 record despite a 4.47 ERA. In 2004 he finished 14-12 with a 5.42 ERA in 33 starts, spending part of the season demoted to the Red Sox bullpen. During the postseason he rebounded with a 3-0 record and 1.86 ERA in four games, three of them starts. He was the winner in the final game of all three postseason series — American League Division Series against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, American League Championship Series against the New York Yankees and World Series against the St. Louis Cardinals — as the Red Sox won their first World Series in 86 years. Lowe is the only pitcher in baseball history to accomplish this.

On January 11, 2005, he finalized a $36 million, four-year contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers. Controversially, Lowe wore a Boston Red Sox uniform, with his career-long number of 32, during the Red Sox World Series ring ceremony on April 11, 2005, after already pitching for theLos Angeles Dodgers.

As of the end of the 2006 season, Lowe had a career won-loss record of 100-82 with 85 saves and 3.81 ERA.

On August 31, 2005, Lowe nearly pitched the second no-hitter of his career. After giving up a leadoff single to the Cubs' Jerry Hairston, Jr., Lowe did not allow another Chicago hit, picking up a one-hit, two-walk, 7-0 complete game victory while facing only 29 batters.

Lowe is one of only 7 ballplayers who pitched in the NL in 2007 who won at least 12 games in each year from 2004-07, the others being Carlos Zambrano, Greg Maddux, Roy Oswalt, Tim Hudson, Jason Marquis, and Jeff Suppan.

On August 3, 2005 FSN West in Los Angeles announced that "Dodger Dugout" anchor Carolyn Hughes had been suspended pending an investigation into a potential relationship between her and Lowe. Shortly thereafter, the pitcher filed for divorce from his wife of seven years, Trinka Lowe, by whom he fathered two children. Hughes' husband had also filed for divorce and, as of early 2006, Lowe and Hughes were living together.

Caroline Winberg

Caroline Winberg
Caroline Winberg Biography

Caroline Winberg was born in Sollentuna, Sweden as the daughter of Thomas and Camila. Caroline enjoyed a relatively normal childhood and was something of a tomboy in her youth. In fact, it was en route to soccer training that a scout spotted the 15-year-old teenager and suggested that she consider a career in modeling. Though Caroline always harbored dreams of becoming a professional soccer player, the exotic and exciting world of modeling proved to be an irresistible force.

Caroline Winberg began her modeling modeling career at age sixteen. At seventeen she gained sudden fame, not for appearing in a well-known campaign or fashion show, but for a scandal involving herself and Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger. She claimed that the singer, who was 59 at the time, had been harassing her with phone calls after seeing her on the runway. Her parents, Thomas and Camila, even asked Jagger to leave their daughter in peace. The singer denied any such phone calls.

A year later, Caroline was booking local gigs and appearing in promotional spots for regional companies. It wasn’t long before she caught the eye of several well-known booking agencies -- including Women Model Management, Why Not Milan and Dominique Brussels -- and the up-and-coming model soon found herself working high-profile campaigns for notable names such as Valentino, Versace and Armani.Caroline’s burgeoning fame within the modeling industry quickly necessitated a move to New York City, where she began establishing herself as one of the hottest imports around.
She has been in campaigns for Valentino, D&G, Tommy Hifiger, Adidas by Stella Mcartney, Rolex, Chloé, Versace, Victoria's Secret and Neiman Marcus and has graced the covers of Italian Vogue, Russian Vogue, and (twice) German Vogue.

She currently lives in New York and is friends with fellow models Marija Vujovic, Gemma Ward and Lily Cole.

Caroline Trentini

Caroline Trentini
Caroline Aparecida Trentini (born July 6, 1987) is a Brazilian supermodel. She was born in Panambi, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Trentini is the youngest daughter of Lourdes and the late Jacó Trentini, who died when she was one year old. Her older sisters are Franciele and Élen. Although she had never worked before, Trentini's mother got a job as a public employee when her husband died and raised her daughters single-handedly.

At about age 13, Caroline Trentini was discovered walking down a street in her hometown by an agent, the same one who scouted supermodel Gisele Bündchen, and soon afterward she moved to São Paulo, a common destination for young Brazilian models. She was frightened to be alone in the big city, as Panambi had only 40,000 residents. However, her modeling career immediately took off, and after a year, Trentini moved again, this time to New York City. She couldn't speak English but quickly learned. Trentini's breakthrough came when designer Marc Jacobs cast her in his Marc by Marc Jacobs ad campaign, photographed by Juergen Teller.

In 2004 she was photographed topless by Steven Klein in a freezer, surrounded by meat, for a Vogue editorial. Although the shoot turned out all right, Trentini converted to a vegetarian. " was worth it but I was traumatized," she later remarked. Klein even sent her flowers and a card congratulating her on her professionalism.

Trentini's trendy baby-cheeked elfish looks and trademark freckles have helped her snag coveted runway spots at shows such as Louis Vuitton, Valentino, Versace, Victoria's Secret, Chanel, Christian Dior, L.A.M.B., Baby Phat, Vera Wang, Oscar de la Renta, Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, and Dolce & Gabbana. She has appeared on the covers of magazines ELLE, Harper's Bazaar and Vogue, among others.

She now lives with fellow Brazilian models Cintia Dicker and Bruna Erhardt in New York City. They are her good friends and "sisters." Of NYC she has said, "I have traveled the world and this is the place I like to be the most." She has said that Kate Moss and Caroline Ribeiro are her favorite fashion icons and that she would like to work with legendary photographer Irving Penn. Currently, she is the face of Gucci Cruise, Oscar De La Renta and Dolce & Gabbana Animelier.

In the May 2007 issue of American Vogue she was featured on the cover with fellow models: Doutzen Kroes, Jessica Stam, Raquel Zimmermann, Sasha Pivovarova, Agyness Deyn, Coco Rocha, Hilary Rhoda, Chanel Iman, and Lily Donaldson as the new crop of supermodels.

Caroline Ribiero

Caroline Ribiero
Caroline Ribiero (b. 20 September 1979 in Belém, Pará, Brazil) is a Brazilian supermodel of Portuguese and Amazonian Indian ethnic heritage. As a teenager Caroline moved to Sao Paulo to begin modeling, though she faced difficulties because of her lack of curves and imperfect teeth . She states of her own looks, ""I think my face is different, it's exotic -- not like normal beauty. I don't have what you would call perfect beauty... With a face like mine I can play around".

Caroline's modeling career improved after she signed with the Marilyn Agency in Paris in 1999. She became the "favorite model" of Tom Ford and appeared prominently in Gucci campaigns . Caroline also walked the runway for Victoria's Secret along with fellow Brazilian models Gisele Bundchen, Adriana Lima and Alessandra Ambrosio. Caroline also became a Revlon spokesmodel. She has appeared on the covers of Vogue and Harper's Bazaar.

Carolina Ardohain

Carolina Ardohain
Ana Carolina Ardohain Dos Santos (born January 17, 1978 in General Acha, La Pampa) is a supermodel and television star in Argentina, also known by the nickname "Pampita". Her mother Tanhia Dos Santos is Brazilian by birth. At the age of 17, Ana left home and went to Buenos Aires. She worked in sales until a casting agent spotted her. The casting agent wanted not only a pretty face but a girl with character. Pampita fit this role. Her still photography work includes the likes of Victoria's Secret and Wonderbra. She has also been featured in ad campaigns for Honda and Coca-Cola. At times she is seen posing practically nude and has many racy photos to her name. Ardohain also has hosted her own TV variety shows, "El Rayo" and "El Sitio", which were ratings winners.

During the FIFA World Cup South Korea-Japan 2002 campaign, Ardohain was voted the national football (soccer) team's representative, or "Godmother" as many called the honorary post. She was invited by Televisión Española to the TV program El Show de Flo in September 2002. She continued as actress in the Argentinian TV series "Rebelde Way" (2003) and "Doble Vida" (2005). In February 2004 she was jury and Queen of the International Music Festival of Viña del Mar, in Chile, and became a personality very popular in Latin America and the United States.

Carolina Ardohain married model and photographer Martín Barrantes in November 2002. In September 2005 she separated from Barrantes in the midst of a tumultuous media-hyped rumor that she was having an affair (which she denied). She rather quickly began dating and living with Benjamín Vicuña, a famous actor from Santiago, Chile. Newspapers published photos of Ardohain walking her beagle, clearly showing that the model was pregnant.

Ardohain and Vicuña had a girl, named Blanca after Benjamin's grandmother. Ardohain has been quoted as saying, "This is a child that we have been waiting for and have loved since the first moment. I'm so proud, having done things without hurting anyone." The birth also bought about a reconciliation between Ardohain and her mother. Currently, Ardohain is expecting her second child with Vicuña.

Carolina Ardohain has generated some jealous comments from other Argentine models. Gossip columns frequently cited how models Nicole Neumann and Julieta Prandi called Pampita a "mucamita" (servant girl or maid) and "muqui" (short for mucamita), essentially labeling her as coming from short peasant stock and not worthy of the high-class world of fashion modeling.

Not only naturally beautiful, Ardohain also has a bubbly personality and is renowned for her passion and skill in dancing. She is considered the top model of Argentina and had a reputation for partying. But she now shies away from the glamours of the model's life, instead opting for quiet nights with Vicuña. Her down-to-earth manner may be in part due to her humble beginnings. She is also known for her various charity works.

Carmen Kass

Carmen Kass
Date of Birth: September 14, 1978

Carmen Kass grew up in Estonia and moved to Milan after being approached by an Italian scout. She now enjoys a successful runway career in New York and Paris.

She loves to play Chess and won the VH1 Model of the Year for 2000.

Kass grew up in the Estonian city of Paide. When she was little girl, she lived in Sika village. Her mother worked in farm. There, she was brought up by a single mother and lived in a cramped apartment. At the age of fourteen, she was 'discovered' in a Tallinn supermarket by an Italian modeling scout. Kass had wanted to compete for the Miss Estonia title, but an offer to fly to Milan, Italy, to start a modeling career seemed like a more glamorous and lucrative option.

Carmen Kass officially moved to Paris at the age of 18. Soon after, she received exposure on the cover of magazines worldwide, such as Vogue (France) in 1997, ELLE (Australia), Image (UK), Madame Figaro, Numéro France, Vogue (France), and Vogue (US) in 1999.

In 1999, Kass modeled for top designers such as Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors, Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Donna Karan, Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci, Prada, Versace, Fendi, Chanel, Chloe, Valentino, Louis Vuitton, and Givenchy.

She is also recognized for her appearances in a The Gap denim advertising campaign. Kass was a spokesperson for Sephora, one of the world's leading cosmetics retailers, and the Christian Dior perfume, J'adore.

As of 2006, she has appeared in campaigns for Dsquared, Pedro del Hierro, Michael Kors and Chloé with Malgosia Bela. In 2007, Kass has got ten campaigns only for the spring/summer collection, including Versace, Michael Kors, Pucci, Jones New York, Salvatore Ferragamo, Gap, Peek & Cloppenburg, Bedat & Co, Time and Et Vous?.

Carmen Kass is well-known for her distinctive runway walk. A quirk of the Estonian supermodel is that while she is very tall, her feet are quite small (about an American size seven). It is said that she sometimes simply falls out of her shoes while walking.

In 2004, Kass starred in the Estonian murder-mystery film Täna öösel me ei maga (We Won't Sleep Tonight). The international release was retitled Set Point.

Also, in February 2004, she joined Estonia's ruling Res Publica Party. Kass ran for the European Parliament after her homeland joined the European Union in May 2004. She won about 2000 votes from the Estonian electorate, but was not elected to the European Parliament.

Kass plays chess and was elected president of the Estonian National Chess League in 2004. She ran a campaign to obtain the right to organise the 2008 Chess Olympics in Tallinn; however, that right was given to Dresden, Germany.

Carla Gugino

Carla Gugino
Carla Gugino (born August 29, 1971) is an American actress best known for her roles of Ingrid Cortez in the Spy Kids trilogy and the title character of the TV series Karen Sisco.

She was born in Sarasota, Florida to an Irish-Italian father and a mother of English descent. Her mother moved the family to Paradise, California, when she was four years old. Despite moving around California a great deal as a child, Carla Gugino remained a straight-A student and graduated valedictorian. At the age of 15 she was spotted by a modeling agency in San Diego and moved to New York. This was unusual as at only 5 feet 4 inches (1.65 meters) tall, she was considered too short for catwalk work. Finding the experience too much, Gugino moved back to California that summer. Partly at the suggestion of her aunt, game show model Carol Merrill, she subsequently studied acting.

Carla Gugino has starred in many films including art-house film Lovelife along with Saffron Burrows and Sherilyn Fenn, Snake Eyes (1998), Judas Kiss (which she also co-produced, 1998), the three Spy Kids films, Son in Law, The One with Jet Li, and Sin City. Her most recent role is in Night at the Museum.

She also played Ashley Schaeffer in the television series Spin City. Gossip suggested Gugino was removed after twelve episodes because Tracy Pollan—wife of star Michael J. Fox—felt her chemistry with Fox was too good. She starred in the short lived CBS science fiction series, Threshold. In 2004, she starred in Roundabout Theatre Company's After the Fall opposite Six Feet Under's Peter Krause. In late 2006, she will begin the Off-Broadway play by Tennessee Williams, Suddenly Last Summer opposite actress Blythe Danner

Carla Gugino has also appeared in a wide range of TV programs including ALF, Doogie Howser, M.D., Saved by the Bell, Who's the Boss? and The Wonder Years, and is featured in the video to Bon Jovi's 1994 song "Always" and also on the last season of Chicago Hope as brain surgeon Dr Gina Simon. Gugino also frequently appears in films written and directed by her longtime boyfriend Sebastian Gutierrez, as they've worked together on several films in the past. Their latest collaboration is the vampire horror film Rise: Blood Hunter starring Lucy Liu as a reporter who is turned into a vampire against her will. She then pursues the vampire sect that turned her. Gugino plays a member of the vampire sect. The film will be in limited release beginning June 1, 2007.

Gugino played Vincent Chase's new agent, Amanda, in the second half of Entourage's third season for a couple of episodes. Gugino appeared nude in the May 2007 issue of Allure.

Caprice Bourret

Caprice Bourret
Caprice Valerie Bourret (born October 24, 1971) is an American lingerie model and sometime actress, television personality and businesswoman. Much of her career has been in the United Kingdom where she is often known by her first name.

Bourret (pronounced Bour-Ray) was born in Hacienda Heights, California to working class parents Dale Bourret and Valerie Pion; her family is Jewish and originates from a French-speaking area of Canada. After growing up in Whittier, California she moved to the United Kingdom in 1996 to further her career in modelling. An appearance in a revealing dress at the 1996 British National Television Awards ceremony helped gain her public recognition.

Caprice Bourret

became a cheerleader at age 13. Contrary to a popular trivia item, she never won the title of Miss Teen California, nor even participated in the pageant. In the years following, Bourret became one of the UK's better known models. She has had her breasts (now insured for £50,000) augmented, which may have led to her selection as a model for Wonderbra. She appeared on the covers of GQ, Cosmopolitan, Esquire, Maxim, FHM and the 1998 Swimsuit Issue of Sports Illustrated. Bourret also posed nude in the March, 2000 issue of Playboy magazine. She was voted GQ magazine's Woman of the Year and Maxim's International Woman of the Year in three consecutive years. She has also been featured in television ad campaigns for Diet Coke and Pizza Hut. She continues to be the face of Paradise Poker.com, and also appears on billboards and advertisements in London.

Bourret is becoming known as a business woman, having launched a series of lingerie, using her image and name. The lingerie is sold by the UK department store chain, Debenhams and lingerie retailer figleaves. The line was well received and deemed a success, having sold millions of items, and is now in its sixth season. Consequently, Bourret has decided to expand her designing interest into a larger industry, and is now planning to market her lingerie line in North America and Australia.

In 1999, Bourret released her first single as a pop singer, "Oh Yeah" (#24), then follow-up single "Once Around the Sun" (also #24), which was co-written by '90s one-hit wonder Chesney Hawkes.

Bourret is also moving into an acting career, having appeared on stage in London in The Vagina Monologues and Rent. She has also appeared in the low-budget films Hollywood Flies, Nailing Vienna, and Jinxed In Love, the soap operas Hollyoaks and Dream Team, and the one-off comedy show Hospital.

In 1998, Caprice became the host of a UK television series, "Caprice's Travels". The series involves Bourret's tour through several major holiday destinations across the world. Bourret has also hosted Friday Night's All Wright as well as several award shows, including the European MTV awards and the Monaco World Music Awards in 1997, the BritishNational Television Awards in 1996, 1997 and 1998, and several series for the television channels VH1 and E! Entertainment.

In early 2005, she appeared on Celebrity Big Brother in the UK, where other contestants implied that she was only taking part in order to boost sales of her products. During a boozy game of 'spin the bottle confessions' on the show, she confessed to thinking about having a lesbian romp.

She also was a cast member on the fifth season of the VH1 reality series The Surreal Life and has previously appeared in the reality shows Celebrities Under Pressure, Celebrities Disfigured, Three Celebrities and a Baby, and Road Raja.

Bourret travelled to Los Angeles, where she played in the World Poker Championship, coming in at 120th out of 700, beating actors Ben Affleck, Matthew Perry, Tobey Maguire, and James Woods.

In May 2006 Caprice captained the England Women's team in the Celebrity World Cup Soccer Six tournament, in which they lost to Brazil in the final.

In June 2006 she starred in the English independent movie Perfect Woman, produced by Olympus Productions Limited.

She is currently in South Africa as producer for a run of the hit off-Broadway musical Debbie Does Dallas at the Johannesburg Civic Theatre from January 16 to February 18, 2007.

In August 2006 Caprice, defended by Nick Freeman, was banned from driving for one year and ordered to pay £2,500 costs when she was found guilty of drunk-driving. It also emerged that she had the previous year deceived her lawyers with a forged letter reported to be written by Nancy Davies. She fooled them into using it to obtain money illegally for her from a newspaper who had said her future mother in law called her a golddigger. Caprice repaid the money and avoided facing a criminal charge.

On February 20, 2007 The Sun newspaper reported that Caprice had been admitted to the London rehabilitation clinic, The Priory, to seek help for depression. The report alleged that Caprice is undergoing addiction therapy. However, Caprice's agent, Jonathan Lipman, has dismissed the allegations as untrue. He insisted that Caprice is "very happy", and added that she was holidaying with her boyfriend.

On her work with Wonderbra: "It was good because it helped me get where I'm at today, but then people stereotype and say we don't want to use her because she's known as the 'Wonderbra girl'."

Brooke Shields

Brooke Shields Biography

Birth Name(s) : Brooke Christa Shields
Date of Birth: May 31, 1965
Status: Married
Partner: Chris Henchy
Profession: Actor/Model

Princeton French literature graduate, Brooke Shields started modelling at age 1 and made her feature film debut in controversial "Pretty Baby" (1978). She took a four-year sabbatical from her career to attend Princeton and has since returned with the TV series "Suddenly Susan" (1996) and films such as "Black and White" (1999) and "The Bachelor" (1999).

By the age of 16, Shields had become one of the most recognizable faces in the world because of her dual career as a provocative fashion model and controversial child actress. TIME magazine reported, in its February 9, 1981 cover story, that her day rate as a model was $10,000. In 1983 Shields appeared on the cover of the September issue of Paris Vogue, the October and November issues of American Vogue and the December edition of Italian Vogue.

Shields' first major film role was her 1978 appearance in Louis Malle's Pretty Baby, a movie in which she played a child living in a brothel (and in which there were numerous nude scenes). Because she was only 12 when the film was released, and possibly 11 when it was filmed, questions were raised about child pornography. This was followed by a slightly less controversial, but also less notable film, Wanda Nevada (1979).

After two decades of movies, her best-known films are still arguably The Blue Lagoon (1980), which included a number of nude scenes between teenage cousins on a deserted island (Shields later testified before a U.S. Congressional inquiry that older body doubles were used in some of them), and Endless Love (1981). She won the People's Choice Award in the category of Favorite Young Performer in four consecutive years from 1981 to 1984.

Shields put her film career on hold to attend Princeton University from 1983 to 1987, graduating with a degree in French literature. Her senior thesis was titled "The Initiation: From Innocence to Experience: The Pre-Adolescent/Adolescent Journey in the Films ofLouis Malle , Pretty Baby and Lacombe Lucien." It was here at Princeton where she spoke openly about her sexuality and virginity. During her tenure at Princeton, Shields was a member of the Princeton Triangle Club and the Cap and Gown Club.

Shields' career stalled at various times, and she has told interviewers that her height (6'0") prevented her from getting roles opposite shorter male actors.

Shields has appeared in a number of television shows, the most successful being the NBC sitcom Suddenly Susan, in which she starred from 1996 until 2000 and which earned her a People's Choice Award in the category of Favorite Female Performer in a New Television Series in 1997 and two Golden Globe nominations.

Shields has appeared in many on-stage productions, mostly musical revivals, including Grease, Cabaret, Wonderful Town and Chicago on Broadway; she also performed in Chicago in London's West End.

Shields made a couple of guest appearances on That '70s Show. She played Mrs. Burkhart, Jackie's (Mila Kunis) mother, who later was briefly involved with Donna's (Laura Prepon) father (played by Don Stark). Shields left That '70s Show when her character was written out. She also appeared in one episode of the popular comedy sitcom Friends playing Joey's stalker. Shields recorded the narration for the Sony/BMG recording of The Runaway Bunny, a Concerto for Violin, Orchestra, and Reader by Glen Roven. It was performed by the Royal Philharmonic and Ittai Shapira.

Her paternal grandparents were Francis Xavier Shields, a tennis star of Irish descent, and his second wife, the Italian princess Donna Marina Torlonia di Civitella-Cesi, a half-Italian, half-American socialite who was a sister of Don Alessandro Torlonia, 5th Prince di Civitella-Cesi, the husband of Infanta Beatriz of Spain (an aunt of King Juan Carlos I of Spain). Shields is a second cousin once removed of the actress Glenn Close. Shields's great-grandmother Mary Elsie Moore (wife of Don Marino Torlonia, 4th Prince di Civitella-Cesi) was Close's great-aunt, a sister of Close's maternal grandfather, Charles Arthur Moore.

Shields was married from April 19, 1997, to April 9, 1999, to professional tennis player Andre Agassi; their marriage was annulled. Since April 4, 2001, she has been married to television writer Chris Henchy. They have two daughters: Rowan Francis (b. May 15, 2003) and Grier Hammond (b. April 18, 2006). Coincidentally, Shields' second child was born on the same day and in the same hospital (Saint John's Health Center) as the first child of Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise, Suri.

In the spring of 2005, Shields spoke to magazines (such as the Guideposts shown here) and appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show to publicize her battle with postpartum depression, an experience that included depression, thoughts of suicide, an inability to respond to her baby's needs, and delayed maternal bonding. The illness may have been triggered by a traumatic childbirth, the death of her father three weeks earlier, stress from in vitro fertilization, a miscarriage, and a family history of depression, as well as the hormones and life changes brought on by childbirth. Her book, Down Came the Rain, discusses her experience.

Since writing her book, Shields has guest-starred on shows like FX's Nip/Tuck and CBS' Two and a Half Men.

Brigitte Bardot

Brigitte BardotBrigitte Bardot

Brigitte Bardot Biography

Brigitte Bardot (full name is Brigitte Anne-Marie Bardot) was born in Paris to Anne-Marie 'Toty' Mucel and industrialist Charles 'Pilou' Bardot. Toty encouraged Brigitte's interest inmusic and dance at an early age; Brigitte modeled for Elle by the time she was 15 years old.

In 1952 Brigitte appeared on screen for the first time in Crazy for Love. That same year she married director Roger Vadim with whom she had been romantically involved for several years. They married when she turned 18 and divorced five years later.

Vadim was not content with this light fare. The New Wave of French and Italian art directors and their stars were riding high internationally, and he felt Bardot was being undersold. Looking for something more like an art film to push her as a serious actress, he showcased her in And God Created Woman (1956) with Jean-Louis Trintignant. The film, about an amoral teenager in a respectable small-town setting, was a big international success. She may have had an affair with her costar Trintignant but this was more likely a prerelease publicity gimmick. The film is often wrongly described as her first film (it was her seventeenth) and to have launched her overnight but it did help move her towards the cinematic mainstream.

She divorced Vadim in 1957 and in 1959 married actor Jacques Charrier, by whom in 1960 she had her only child, Nicolas-Jacques Charrier. She and her son were never close - she did not raise him and once compared being pregnant with him to having a tumor growing within her. Her marriage was preyed on by the paparazzi and there were clashes over the direction of her career. Her films became more substantial, but this brought a heavy pressure of dual celebrity as she sought critical acclaim while remaining a glamour model for most of the world.

Vie privée (1960), directed by Louis Malle has more than an element of autobiography in it. The scene in which, returning to her flat, Bardot's character is harangued in the lift by a middle aged cleaning lady calling her a tramp and a tart was based on an actual incident, and is a resonant image of celebrity in the mid 20th century.

In 1970 the sculptor Alain Gourdon used Bardot as the model for a bust of Marianne, the French national emblem.

In 1973 just before her fortieth birthday Bardot announced her retirement. After appearing in more than fifty motion pictures and recording several music albums, most notably with Serge Gainsbourg, she chose to use her fame to promote animal rights.

The first "Brigitte Bardot" song was released by Achilles and his Heels on the Fontana label in 1961.

In 1986 she established the Brigitte Bardot Foundation for the Welfare and Protection of Animals. She raised three million French francs to fund the foundation by auctioning off jewelry and many personal belongings. Today she is one of the world's most influential animal rights activists and a major opponent of the consumption of horse meat.

Considered a militant for animal protection, she condemned seal hunting in Canada during a visit to that country. She sought to discuss the issue with Stephen Harper, though her request for a meeting was denied.

Her husband Bernard d'Ormal to whom she has been married since 1992 is a former adviser of the Front National. With the publication of her 2003 book A Scream in the Silence the reclusive Bardot has come under considerable fire for anti-Muslim and homophobic comments. In May 2003 the MRAP announced it would sue Bardot for her published views. Another organisation - the "Ligue des Droits de l'Homme" (League of Human Rights) - announced they were also considering similar legal proceedings. To her defence, she never supported the Front National.

Bardot, in a letter to a French gay magazine, wrote in her defense: 'Apart from my husband - who maybe will cross over one day as well - I am entirely surrounded by homos.

On 10 June 2004 Bardot was convicted by a French court of 'inciting racial hatred and fined 5,000 €, the fourth such conviction/fine she has faced from French courts. The courts cited passages where Bardot referred to the "Islamization of France" and the "underground and dangerous infiltration of Islam", her descriptions of France's Muslim community, the largest in Europe. In the book she also referred to tranvestites as 'fairground freaks' and she questioned the presence of women in government.

In addition to popularizing the bikini swimming suit, Bardot has also been credited for popularizing Saint Tropez. Photos of her in her later years have also been utilized to warn against the dangers of excessive exposure to the sun.

In the Stephen King's book "Hearts in Atlantis", she is the one that appears on Bobby's mind when he and Ted see the big car outside the restaurant. She also appears on a wallpaper in a cinema.

Refrenced in the songs "We Didn't Start the Fire" (Billy Joel), "I Shall Be Free" (Bob Dylan), and "Warlocks" (Red Hot Chili Peppers).
